South Florida Subway ordered shut after rodent droppings found

(WPLG) BROWARD COUNTY, Fla. – Subway in Lauderhill was ordered to shut down last week by the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation due to serious health violations, including rodent and roach activity.

The restaurant was closed after inspectors found nearly 100 rodent droppings throughout the restaurant, from under the cash register to food storage areas. It was allowed to re-open and serve you food again following an ordered clean up and then a re-inspection.

“Rodent activity present as evidenced by rodent droppings found.

1) Approximately 30 rodent droppings on floor under cash register

2) Approximately 20 rodent droppings in open cabinet space below and to left of cash register.

3) 7 rodent dropping in cabinet space under cold line and along floor directly in front of cold line.

4) 11 rodent droppings on floor and shelf unit at far end of make line closest to window.

5) Approximately 25 rodent droppings along wall under dry goods shelves, triple sink, and soda syrup box rack in back hall area.”

“Live, small flying insects found

1) 3 small flying insects around trash can near triple sink in back hall area behind main make line. None landing on food prep items, utensils, or pans.

2) 2 small flying insects on floor under soda box rack beside back door.

3) 3 small flying insects under employee table at end of front counter closest to window. None landing on food preparation areas or utensils.”

“Floor not cleaned when the least amount of food is exposed. Floor areas along entire back wall under dry goods shelf, triple sink, and reach in freezer in back hall area has food and dirt debris buildup.”

“No proof of required state approved employee training provided for any employees.”
