TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — A Florida man has been chowing down on raw chicken daily in a bizarre challenge to find out if eating raw meat isn’t as horrifying as it seems.
John, who has chosen not to share his last name for privacy reasons, has been filming himself eating slabs of raw chicken and chugging raw eggs for his 400,000 Instagram followers for more than a month now.
He said he plans to eat raw chicken every day until he “gets a tummy ache.”
Eating raw chicken is strongly advised against because it can cause bloody diarrhea, fever, vomiting, stomach cramps, parasites and more.
“Raw meat and poultry should always be cooked to a safe minimum internal temperature. When roasting meat and poultry, use an oven temperature no lower than 325 °F. Use a food thermometer to assure that meat and poultry have reached a safe minimum internal temperature.” – USDA
This isn’t the first time John has experimented with raw meat. In 2021, John said he would sit outside Whole Foods and try raw meats, including beef, kangaroo and veal brain.
